Either way Lincoln Center will be abuzz as all the traveling, hotel arrangements, editorial assignments and extensive production preparations kick off in earnest today. While the obvious names that will be dominating that day include BCBG Maxzaria and Desigual (pictured above), here are a few other shows that you should be watching from wherever you can this coming Thursday, February 12th.

Nicholas K may not be a name everyone has heard of, but Nicholas Kunz, a graduate of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology and her brother Christopher Kunz, have definitely built a name for themselves with a focus on the 'Urban Nomad'. Their designs are focused around an expression of our desire for new experience, travel, balanced with a strong connection to nature. Plain and simple, they create clothing that has a slight twist from the norm and definitely adds character to the wearer. The design duo creates high end fashion for both women and men and have been featured in top tier publications around the globe including EsquireDetailsVogueHarper’s BazaarElle,Marie ClaireLuckyThe New York Times Magazine and i-D. Additionally, their clothing has appeared in the blockbuster move “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”  Most notable of those used, was the best selling “Nova” jacket, worn extensively by the Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.  Collaboration with the movie stylists continues for the upcoming sequels. If you haven't seen Nicholas K before, be sure to keep them on your radar going forward.

In an obvious nod to his roots in New York, Todd Synder has a very urban take on his high end menswear line launched exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman, Ron Herman, and Neiman Marcus for Fall 2011. A year later his line was picked up by Barneys and Nordstrom as Snyder was nominated for the CFDA Swarovski Award for Menswear and named one of GQ’s Best New Menswear Designers. Simply put, this design veteran has had stints at Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap and J Crew while holding senior level positions overseeing merchandising for menswear. His eye for style and the perfectly fitted suit for a man will be exposed at Lincoln Center this coming Thursday and like his 17,000 Instagram followers, you should be watching.

Richard Chai is a New York native and one of the latest in a long line of prestigious Parsons graduate to showcase under the bright lights of Mercedes. Having held roles at various luxury and mid-market brands such as Geoffrey Beene, Donna Karen and Marc Jacobs, Chai developed a keen eye for detail, a reverence for architectural design elements, and a strong belief in the importance and value of the construction of clothes. His eponymous label was launched in 2004, and while not quite a household name, Chai has been seen gracing the runways since as early as 2005 and was featured during Paris Fashion Week in Fall 2008. In June 2010, Richard Chai was named Swarovski Menswear Designer of the Year at the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards and a finalist for GQ/CFDA’s Best New Men’s Designer in America. In 2015, he will be bringing his namesake label back to New York and Lincoln Center for a show we hope you will be able to see.

While these designers will be presenting at Lincoln Center, there are sure to be quite a few other designer presenting all around the city at smaller venues for their first collections ore returning shows. New York Fashion Week is will have no shortage of incredible designer talent to discover during its first day. If you see something you like, be sure to share it with us below.
